Senior IT Auditor

 The Information Technology Auditor reports directly to the IT Audit Director of Internal Audit and is responsible for performance of IT audits in a complex and challenging IT environment, as assigned by the Director. The individual is responsible for the following activities: conducts / supervises audits as assigned by the IT Audit Director; prepares draft Audit Planning Memorandum and draft Audit Program for the assigned audit, for the IT Audit Director's review; prepares / reviews work papers showing results of the audit assignment in accordance with professional standards and CU Internal IT Audit Standards; resolves exceptions with line management for final presentation; keeps the IT Audit Director and appropriate departmental and functional management informed of the progress of all work; provides written drafts of audit reports including proposed findings and recommendations with management; concludes work on a timely basis and in accordance with IT audit plans; assists the IT Audit Director in the IT risk assessment process at the Morningside and Medical Center campuses; performs follow up on IT audit issues and prepares draft status reports; performs / supervises other IT related departmental tasks, special projects assigned by the IT Audit Director (e.g., implementation of automated audit software, ACL, upgrading IT audit tools); recommends other procedures in connection with ongoing reviews and other/new areas for addition to the IT auditable units list.


Minimum Requirement

Bachelor's degree in information systems or computer science is required.  An advanced degree is desirable. Minimum 5 years related experience in Information Technology Auditing.   The candidate must have superior interpersonal skills. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Supervisory experience preferred. Technical Skills: Must have adequate training and demonstrate a clear understanding of the risk and controls inherent in technology. Knowledge of multiple platforms (e.g., Mainframe, Client Server - UNIX, WEB, Internet, Firewalls, and Telecommunications, ERM Systems) is preferred. Required certification: CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor). Desirable certifications: CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). Familiarity with COBIT, HIPAA and ISO/IEC 17799 is desired.
