Position Overview The individual will be leading audits of complex computer applications and technological solutions, including General Computing Controls, Operating System Security, and Application Controls, including reviews of AS/400, UNIX, JD Edwards and SAP. Also, the individual will be performing security assessments of organizational compliance with Pentair's Information Security policy while providing recommendations to business units that will assist them in improving their overall internal security control structure. Other operating systems reviewed may include Windows NT and 2000. Essential Job Functions · Learn and understand the company's IT needs and challenges with an emphasis on business processes, policies & procedures, self-governance practices and SOX regulatory obligations · Demonstrate expertise in audit standards, processes, and techniques and apply these skills to lead teams through comprehensive and effective IT audits. · Execute the audit process in accordance with professional and company standards within a wide variety of computing environments and computer · Apply internal controls to technology processes and appropriately assess the risks of ineffective or missing control practices. · Understand the financial, operational, and compliance risks which affect information systems design, modification and processing activities; demonstrate the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate those risks; and develop recommendations which are appropriate, realistic and cost-effective. · Effectively evaluate audit results, weighing the relevancy, accuracy, and perspective of conclusions against the accumulated audit evidence. Document relevant facts and evidence to support audit testing and conclusions in a way that other reviewers can understand the auditor's logic and methods. · Complete work assignments independently as part of a team project. Be able to complete work with limited instructions, yet know when to seek guidance from supervising staff when circumstances warrant. · Establish relationships with internal customers, managers and staff · Engage in professional development activities, including completion of professional certification as appropriate · Exhibit creativity and innovation in recommending improvements to departmental audit practices and processes. Qualifications Proficiency in communicating effectively both verbally and through written material. Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. · 2 or more years of IT audit experience required. Additional experience in at least one of the following areas is a strong plus: systems and infrastructure lifecycle management; IT service delivery and support; protection of information assets and/or security configuration. · Comfort with ambiguity; flexible and adaptable · Strong critical thinking and analytical skills · Driven and motivated to get results; takes initiative; follows through on deliverables · Demonstrates professional skepticism; appropriately questions status quo · Exhibits confidence and the ability to lead teams and coach peers · Bachelors degree required; MBA or Master’s in IS or systems development preferred · Professional certification such as CISA, CISSP, or CIA preferred · Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred · Ability & willingness to travel both domestically and internationally for up to 60% of the year.
