We have been engaged to conduct an executive search for a Senior Internal Auditor for our client, Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.

 

 Lahey Clinic is a world class health care organization that includes Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington with an ambulatory care center serving more than 3,000 patients each day and a 317-bed teaching hospital; Lahey Clinic Medical Center, North Shore in Peabody, and twelve community practice groups.

 

The Senior Internal Auditor will work under the supervision of the Director of Internal Audit/Compliance Officer and will plan, direct and perform audits appraising compliance with established policies and procedures designed to protect Lahey Clinic assets.  They will prepare reports, related analyses and independently draft recommendations to assist management in improving internal controls, reducing costs, increasing efficiency and minimizing unnecessary losses.  The Senior Internal Auditor will provide guidance and direction to less experienced auditors.

 

Ideal candidates will have Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or business administration (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2-3 years of professional accounting experience in public accounting or internal auditing or a healthcare setting.  Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and good communications skills.  An MBA and/or a CPA or CIA  is preferred.  They will have very strong technical accounting skills and will demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and procedures including knowledge of accounting principles, computerized records and control systems.  Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, and access is a plus.  Experience in a Big-4 public accounting firm is a plus.

 

This position is very visible and does not require any travel.

 

 

The starting salary is up to$75k+, depending on background and experience (there may be flexibility for a very strong candidate).
