Senior Level Production Accountant

Contract position for 3-4 months with possibility for direct hire. Position is located in Carlsbad, New Mexico for an Integrated enginering, construction and management solutions company.

This is a journey level position with a bachelors degree in accounting, business administration or a related field and two to four years professional developmental experience. A CPA or MBA could substitute for two years experience. Under general supervision, provides support to more experienced personnel by performing routine accounting assignments, moderately difficult in nature, requiring a broad knowledge of accounting theory and principles. This position has a degree of accountability and responsibility. Displays knowledge and ability to apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related and unrelated accounting tasks, including the ability to design and implement changes in accounting procedures as needed. Duties include; assemble and prepare monthly financial reports and other technical reports; analyze the general ledger with supporting schedules for control and accuracy; prepare or assist in the preparation of general accounting functions; record incoming internal charges from other corporate entities; prepare data and enter into the data systme; prepare journal vouchers to incorporate monthly transactions into the operational files; reconcile accounts monthly; prepare long term cash forecasts; and/or provide liaison services between job site personnel and corporate administration in respect to project accounting. If on a project, may perform one or more of the following additional duties; maintain the general ledger and subsidiary systems; supervise the accounts payable functions; record incoming charges from subcontractors; and/or maintain records for all client-owned equipment and rental items. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall accuracy.
