Senior Manager - Financial and Management Accounting

The Financial Operations Division (FOD) supports Macquarie by providing financial control, financial planning and capital management, management reporting and budgeting and divisional accounting services.The FOD New York team of approximately 9 people is responsible for management accounting and financial accounting for the US business groups. Offshore teams in Sydney, London, Toronto and Seoul comprise around 450 people. The role involves the following responsibilities: Preparation of regular management reporting for operating groups (as above) and support areas Liaison with key operating divisions for timely provision of necessary information and resolution of questions arising from review of monthly management reports Assistance with preparation of Macquarie budget for FOD NY. Providing accounting support to the business Reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts Involvement in ad hoc projects across the division, such as improvements to PeopleSoft general ledger system Ensuring business units costs are allocated appropriately and analysis completed Managing a team of qualified accountants. To succeed in this role, you'll have: commercial experience including management reporting, strong GAAP exposure, statutory reporting and tax compliance. the ability to interact with and influence all levels of staff, including senior management in both the key operating groups and in FOD; and the ability to build constructive relationships with external parties. 5 to 8 years practical working experience in accounting, with experience in public accounting or private sector accounting in a publicly-held company considered advantageous.  CPA qualification essential.
