 WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Manager, Retail Planning and Analysis provides critical merchandise performance analysis and financial decision support to the marketing investment in catalog and internet merchandising programs to optimize product sales, margin and profitability.  You will work closely with the Merchandising team to develop forecasts, merchandise performance plans and user friendly merchandise reporting tools while partnering with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in the development of seasonal campaign and annual business plans and budgets. 

 

 ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· Creating financial reporting for ongoing and ad hoc analysis of merchandise performance in terms of catalog space productivity, initial margin, maintain margin, returns and profitability; identify relationships, opportunities, conclusions and recommendations that impact merchandising effectiveness.

· Provide analyses that support vendor merchandise negotiations and product line reviews.

· Identify, analyze and communicate trends affecting the business

· Prepare merchandise planning roll-ups for each catalog campaign and internet seasonal campaign, ensuring sales and margins goals are accurately forecasted and planned to meet financial goals.

· Forecast sales, gross margin, returns and order volume across product lines for each catalog mailing event (top down and bottom up), create and maintain dashboard reports for merchandise budgeting and forecasting.

· Provide key merchandise input to support inventory planning and sourcing.

· Serve in an advisory role to merchandising management to provide assistance in identifying/exploring business opportunities.

 



 

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

· BS Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related fields; MBA strongly preferred.

· 7+ years of financial analysis experience with a minimum of 3 years in a retail planning and analysis role. 

· Strong working knowledge of Hyperion, Business Objects or similar business intelligence tool required, experience with Coremetrics, Omniture, WebTrends or equivalent web analytics tool strongly preferred.

· Be able to develop and execute merchandise sales and performance analysis utilizing expert technical skill proficiency in Excel.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a changing, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
