Senior Payroll Accountant

We currently have an opening for a Senior Payroll Accountant to join our Human Resources team in Canton, MA.

This position will perform all accounting activities related to payroll processing including the reconciliation of all payroll cycles, the preparation and thorough analysis of monthly account reconciliations, production of financial close deliverables, tax filings and data reporting/analysis. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reconcile biweekly and off-cycle payroll general ledger interface to financial system.
2. Prepare account reconciliations and perform maintenance, analysis and research of various general ledger accounts including employee health & welfare contributions, tax withholdings and checking/direct deposit.
3. Prepare journal entries and funding vouchers as required.
4. Prepare monthly payroll reconciliation packages for various subsidiaries.
5. Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting for management as required from both payroll, HR and financial systems.
6.  Provide payroll transaction support to HR Service Center members.

Requirements:
Position requires significant accounting proficiency, experience and training.
Ability to produce and analyze moderate to complex reports or data is essential.
Ability to identify issues from a technical or business process standpoint and make recommendations for change/improvement where appropriate.
Must demonstrate proficiency with computer software including current Windows applications and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs. Bachelor's degree along with 3-5 years of accounting experience required. Payroll accounting preferred and experience with Peoplesoft desirable.
