Senior Payroll Analyst
• Assisting Payroll management in creation and preparation of ad hoc and recurring reports from the Ceridian Payroll / HR and Time Reporting Systems. • Providing support in preparation of special payouts and earnings updates such as Salary Bonus, Commissions, and Fringe Benefits. • Assisting Payroll management by testing Payroll Internal Controls and completion of Ceridian Data Scrub utility. • Auditing payroll data to GL postings. • Key involvement in ensuring that SAS 70 documentation is up to date and related procedures are in place. • Providing a critical role in various tasks associated with implementation of payroll changes due to systems upgrades, systems changes, and / or addition of new entities into the existing Payroll / HR environment. • Developing and implementing training for payroll related functions. • Working closely with Payroll management to create benchmark payroll processes. • Maintaining existing payroll procedures and documenting additional procedures. • 5+ years of previous hands-on automated payroll experience in a multi-state environment. • Extensive understanding of Payroll Processing, Garnishments, Reconciliation, Posting to G/L, Journal Entry, and other relevant payroll transactions. • Demonstrated experience and advanced knowledge of automated systems for large payroll generations, i.e. Ceridian, ADP, etc. • Expert level Excel skills demonstrated through ability to create macros and utilize formulas to extract and modify data. • Intermediate to Advanced ability to use SQL, MS Query, and Crystal Reports. • Certified Payroll Professional desired. Knowledge & Skills: • Highly skilled in customer service concepts and employee diplomacy. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven experience working among cross-functional teams within a change environment. • Must be able to organize work to meet critical deadlines and plan for exceptions. • High level of organization skills with varying projects and deadlines. • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion. • Ability to analyze calculations or situations and formulate possible solutions.
