Every location offers an environment that values each of its employees! Job Description: As an essential member of the Payroll team, the Senior Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for: Research reporting of taxable fringe benefits, Executive Benefits & new Plans. Research data to ensure employment tax compliance with federal, state and local tax authorities. Ensure payroll tax compliance and conduct reviews of Federal, State and Local jurisdictions. Assist in quarter-end and year-end processing, including Forms 941, W2s and W2cs. Performs year-end audits on all Company tax returns and State Unemployment Insurance. Monitors all payroll related tax notices, abatement of penalties and/or interest requests. Prepare responses to various audits including the IRS, state and local jurisdictions. Responsible for serving as the first point of contact for payroll tax questions, changes, payroll tax filings and adjustments. Consult with Business Units regarding payroll tax inquiries and reporting of various programs. Support Payroll Tax Specialist. Identify opportunities for effective and efficient operations and to improve system internal controls. Develop work audits and controls. Research payroll tax laws for payroll system conversions due to acquisitions. Research and review inquires concerning the processing of third party sick pay. Job Qualifications: Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent in training and experience. CPP a plus. Minimum 5-7 years payroll and payroll tax experience in multi-state and multi-FEIN environment. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Access. Strong accounting and financial analysis skills needed to oversee payroll tax reconciliation processes. Problem solving/decision-making and analytical skills needed in routine management of payroll tax matters, special projects and quality management. Familiarity with specialty payroll software helpful, Ceridian preferred. Knowledge of multi-state tax law affecting payroll departments on all governmental levels (local, state and federal). Knowledge of unemployment laws, procedures and filing requirements affecting the company. Strong follow-up skills on open and new issues. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize projects with minimal supervision including ability to make sound independent decisions. Effective oral and written communication skills. Exercise tack and discretion, as exposed to and involved with highly sensitive and confidential information.
