Senior Staff Accountant

Opportunity for a Senior Staff Accountant to join an exciting team for one of our clients in Palm Beach County.  Company offers competitive salaries and excellent benefit plans.   Essential Functions· Prepare monthly financial statements using an audit approach for self-review of items on the balance sheet; gather all the information needed to prepare their financials· Analyze information/correspondence from the home office accounting department· Prepare journal entries from support statements, pay bills, and reconcile accounts· General Ledger preparation· Gain an in-depth understanding of the organizational structure of the companies he/she does the accounting for and the types of inter-company transactions between them· Analysis of budget variance· Using Microsoft Excel extensively for date entry, report generation and data analysis· Assist senior management with various reports and budget forecasts Required/Preferred Qualifications· Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience, including preparation of financial statements, required; experience with a public accounting firm, financial statement consolidation preferred· Bachelors degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred· Exhibition of a high energy level and capability of making certain decisions independent of management influence.  · Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required· Ability to be flexible in dealing with others and to work autonomously with little supervision· Capability of handling multiple tasks while remaining focused on job objectives Email Word formatted resume to Josephgarcia@mergisgroup.com   Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
