Settlement Accountant

Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world.  AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotion and touring companies.  AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, a 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.

 

 

Due to our continuous growth and expansion into new markets, we are seeking an experienced Settlement Accountant to be an integral member of AEG’s Facilities team at STAPLES Center and NOKIA THEATRE LA LIVE in Los Angeles, CA.

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

 

To assist in accounting and finance related functions relating to STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting in the facilities business with the right combination of technical accounting and industry knowledge to enable him/her to contribute in a broad range of finance functions. 

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  Perform event settlements for concerts, family shows, and tenants. Reconcile daily ticketing. Reconcile daily and monthly facility receipts, including concessions, parking, and merchandise. Various accounting responsibilities, which may include deposits, bank recs, Journal Entry preparation, etc. Other special projects as required.

 

 

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

 

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company

 

 

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITES:

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications Microsoft Excel experience required, including spreadsheet capabilities. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. Understanding of Ticketmaster.  Effective verbal and written communicator with the ability to effectively interface with various departments and divisions of AEG. Must have strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills with great attention to detail and accuracy. Experience with accounting software preferred.

  Accounting systems knowledge a plus.

  Working Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, purchasing practices and associated systems and procedures;

  Ability to maintain accurate records in accordance with established procedures;

  Ability to perform detail work involving written or numeric data and to make arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately;

  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and third parties;

  Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

 

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting preferred but not required.  Combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 

 

 

Experience:

 

Preferred but not required a minimum of two years industry experience or related business
