Special Projects Accountant

AKEBONO BRAKE CORPORATION is a successfully growing automobile brake manufacturer headquartered in Elizabethtown, KY (40 minutes south of Louisville, KY).  We are currently seeking a Special Projects Accountant at our Elizabethtown facility. 

This position will manage special projects including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) initiative.  Conducts audits for management to assess effectiveness of controls and accuracy of financial records.  Coordinates all interaction with external auditors and consultants. 

Duties and Reposibilities:Audits records of departments and interviews workers to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Examines department activities for compliance with management plans and policies. Inspects accounting systems to determine their efficiency and protective value. Reviews records pertaining to staff and material assets, such as equipment and buildings, to determine degree to which they are utilized. Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures. Prepares and submits audit findings and makes recommendations to management. Conducts special studies for management such as those required to discover mechanics of detected fraud and to develop controls for fraud prevention.



The "ideal candidate" should have: 

 Four years of related experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting/FinanceCPA license preferredSOX experience preferred
