Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities:

1) Preparation of the quarterly and annual statutory annual statements on a timely basis with the State Insurance Department and regulatory agencies.

2) Preparation of the generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) financial package.

3) Analyze and obtain support for the financial statements from appropriate source

4) Prepare and facilitate the external audit financial statements.

5) Assist in evaluation of the impact of recent accounting (Statutory or GAAP) pronouncements on business operations.

6) Assist  in the finance conversion of newly acquired blocks of business

· Transition bank, custodial and state deposit accounts

· Coordinate transfer of balance sheet at acquisition date

· Oversee transition of investment portfolio management and accounting functions

· Consolidate historical activity of acquired block with existing blocks

· Apply Purchase GAAP accounting (“PGAAP”) treatment

 

Experience Requirements:

1) Life insurance/ reinsurance experience including statutory and GAAP financial reporting 3-5 years.

2) Knowledge of GAAP, statutory accounting principles and state insurance regulations.

3) Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

4) Strong analytical capabilities and good organizational skills.

5)  Candidate should have Annual Statement software package, general ledger, EXCEL and WORD skills.

Educational Requirements:

CPA designation a big plus.
