Sr. Accountant / Accounting Manager

Fortune 1000 Company seeks an Accounting Manager / Sr. Accountant in Rockville, MD office. This person will assume full responsibility for Accounts Receivable processes and accounting; includes functions such as posting cash receipts from lockbox, processing credit adjustments and refunds, handling billing issues; monitor collection accounts and bad debt write off; supervise staff in these functions. Perform accounting reconciliation of sub-ledger and general ledger. Handle audit inquiries. Assume charge of transitioning to a new AR system.  This person will manage a staff of 5.

Requirements:

Must have a degree in accounting
Good knowledge of lockbox operations and AR systems;
experience in handling large volume of customer accounts and communicating with them on payment issues.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of accounting for Receivables and account reconciliations.
Experience in supervising a staff
Steady and consistent performance required and must be able to take charge and work independently.
