Job Description Sr Analyst- GL Accounting p { font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 12px; } Responsibilities This position is responsible for various, higher-level, financial and accounting duties within the Financial Reporting and Consolidations Group. In general, this involves financial reporting, results analysis, and assessment of accounting procedures used by Verizon Wireless.Ownership/Management of certain accounting processes, including reconciliation. Requires independent review, assessment, and decisions to be made as they relate to: Capitalized Software, Customer Security Deposits, Long-term Rent and Lease Incentives, Marketing Development Funds, Gift Cards and Prepaid Fiber OpticsProvide accounting guidance and assistance to other departments within the company as neededMonth-end Close responsibilites include: - Interprete financial results and trends as they relate to operations- Prepare various summary analysis used by upper management- Orchestrate the changes made to the Income Statement after the posting deadline- Develop procedure and process changes in order to create efficiencies during month-end closePerform ad hoc special projects and analysis as needed. p { font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 12px; } Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required3 or more years of experience with General Ledger account reconciliations, analysis, and accounting. Well-developed analytical and interpretive skills.Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently, including follow-up and carry-through of work assignments.
