Sr. Client Accountant

Overall Purpose:

Responsible for the management of the client financial relationship.  Primary lead for all financial deliverables to clients, including invoicing, reconciliations and profitability analysis.  Works closely with the Account team and Service teams (especially media and production) to ensure financial elements of the client relationship are communicated, tracked, monitored and managed.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

 

·  Guide the efforts to prepare and produce all Client invoicing

·  Monitor job activity, prepare and assist with fee, media and production reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

·  Work closely with the client teams to stay abreast of changes and modifications to client budgets

·  Work with Account teams to ensure revenue tracking systems are up to date

·  Monitor projects for proper revenue recognition

·  Lead efforts to manage client collections and ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner

·  Work with Media Biller to guide the creation of media insertion orders and media estimates

·  Prepare and secure approvals for media invoicing

·  Create new jobs, monitor status and close out upon completion

·  Work with Media Biller to monitor open insertion orders and ensure client media budgets are reconciled

·  Provide ongoing reporting and analysis to client team related to client and job profitability

·  Aid Account teams in the development of pricing and work estimates

·  Develop relationship with client personnel related to financial processes and deliverables

·  Aid in the supervision and training of client accounting and media staff

·  Oversee maintenance of client files

·  Monitor time reporting

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience in Accounting or related field

·  4-5 years experience in accounting

·  Advertising agency experience preferred

·  Good communication skills

·  Excellent organizational skills

·  Collaborative work style

·  Excellent excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Clients & Profits, AdWare, or equivalent) skills, strong MS Word, MS Outlook, and basic Internet skills.
