Sr Financial Analyst

Position Summary:  Perform accounting, analysis and reporting functions related to the  Worldwide Diagnostics organization.  Position involves a broad range of functions, with emphasis on financial and management reporting, forecasting, account reconciliation and processing of commissions. 

 

 



KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

·  Calculate commissions due to Canadian salesmen.

·  Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports.

·  Conduct month-end closing activities, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliation. 

·  Prepare quarterly forecast templates and variance analyses.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Assist in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, including maintenance of current process narratives and improvement in internal control environment.

·  Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

·  Assist local management in obtaining deeper understanding of the business units’ financial performance.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education:

· Bachelors Degree in Accounting

· CPA and public accounting experience preferred

Years of Experience:

· 3-5 years relevant business experience.

 

KEY COMPETENCIES

§A comprehensive understanding of:  accounting theory and practice, financial reporting, GAAP, budgeting and forecasting.

§Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley and strong internal controls background.

§ Strong  data analysis and problem-solving skills.

§Ability to understand and improve upon business processes and to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel throughout the company.

 

§Candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and have the initiative to drive projects through to completion. Position requires occasional overtime and may require some overnight travel.

 

§Proficiency working with personal computers and Microsoft Office products required.  Experience with Access, Hyperion and BaaN/SSA Ln highly desirable.

 

§Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
