Sr. Financial Analyst

The Sr. Analyst, Business Finance will be an integral part of the Finance team in providing on-going management support and financial expertise in business planning, decision making and profit improvement analysis to maximize return on investment to shareholders. He/she is expected to conduct value-added analysis and work effectively in a cross functional team environment, recommending course of actions to management.

Responsibilities:Provides financial information and guidance to all levels of management. Ensures timely and accurate delivery of financial statements. Establishes and facilitates process development and improvement initiatives.  Works with cross-functional teams to set targets, develop plans, conduct analyses, measure results and improve processes. Consults with senior management to present data, propose solutions and identify opportunities for improvement.Drive/Coordinate the development of annual operating plans, as well as monthly forecasts. Conducts decision analyses as needed and communicates recommendations and results. Builds and maintains complex financial models.Supports business team/s in all financial activities, including analysis and feedback on weekly and monthly financial performance and key performance measures. Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.Provides root cause variance explanations and highlights opportunities and risks. Identifies, analyzes, and communicates trends and issues (i.e. pricing and competition impact) affecting the business. Conducts financial analysis to help improve decision-making. Leads and participates in special financial and business projects which may include return on investment analysis on new stores, remodeling, strategic initiatives, and major maintenance projects.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred (Accounting/Finance)

Experience:

3-5 years experience in financial analysis, financial planning, accounting (big 4 or general ledger experience preferred), or project management. Retail experience is preferred.

Skills:

§ Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint, Microsoft Access. VBA programming preferred.

§ Self confident and detail oriented with strong organization, project management, and communication skills required.

§Advance knowledge of financial, economic, accounting theory and financial and statistical modeling techniques.Ability to work well across all levels of the organization
