Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst

Prepare and analyze GAAP and Statutory financial statements in accordance with NAIC statutory accounting principles and generally accepted accounting principles. Provide analytical documentation that identifies and explains financial variances. Instruct other departments on treatment of accounting transactions to comply with accounting principles. Coordinate and prepare related annual statutory exhibits and state page exhibit for each state Pacific Life & Pacific Life & Annuity is licensed and completed workpapers that support financial data. Complete Division industry reporting and ensure data is consistent between agencies. Coordinate the Division annual expense budget and consolidate cost center data for comparative reports at department levels for Sr. Management review.

The qualities we seek includes a Bachelors degree in accounting, business or finance and/or 5+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience. A thorough understanding of insurance accounting and generally accepted accounting principles, specifically FAS 97 and 115.
Prefer a candidate with knowledge and an understanding of variable life accounting in accordance with statutory accounting principles preferred.Should have a good understanding of corporate federal income taxes for insurance reporting and an ability to analyze financial data and formulate findings and recommendations to management. Advanced PC spreadsheets capability and data base programming is required.
Also requires the ability to work effectively and efficiently inside the company and externally. SHould possess leadership skills, such as directing others and leading projects.
