Sr Project Mgr - Revenue Cycle SOX Imple (OAKLAND)
POSITION OVERVIEW:The Sr. Project Manager, Revenue Cycle Controls & SOX Compliance, is accountable for the coordination and facilitation of revenue cycle control and Sarbanes-Oxley implementation within Operations and for the development of written revenue cycle control standards, SOX documentation, and policies program-wide. Activities include business process and control structure evaluation, remediation of control deficiencies for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and on-going monitoring of compliance with SOX and other defined control standards. Recommends modifications to established practices and procedures and successfully handles a full range of complex assignments, projects, and system functionality. Educates business owners on internal controls and provides expert consultation on financial control issues and solutions to mitigate risk. Prepares financial reports and provides analyses in an accurate, comprehensive and timely manner to management. Assists in the planning and development of budgets and managing projects for senior staff. Participates in complex projects, as assigned. Provides guidance to junior staff.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* Proficient in collaboration, conflict resolution, group interaction and dynamics, project management, and facilitation of significant projects.* Strong interpersonal skills, especially specific to persuasion and negotiation.* Strong presentation skills, with experience presenting to executives, managers, and staff.* Ability to drive projects in a matrix management environment that includes influencing, efficiency, collaboration, candor, and openness with a focus on results orientation.* Thorough knowledge of complex project management processes, tools, techniques and methodologies to lead large scale effort.* Demonstrated ability in influence operational management.* Knowledge of financial controls, audit processes, Generally Accepted Accounting Practices, SOX requirements, and risk mitigation approaches and best practices.* Understanding of revenue cycle processes, requirements, and best practices, including Enrollment, Scheduling, Pre-registration, Registration, Admitting, Financial Counseling, Charge Master, Coding, Charge Capture, Billing, Collections, Bad Debt, Payment Processing, Denial Management, Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable Finance Operations preferred.* Demonstrated ability to determine the key risks that need to be addressed and develop actions plans that are multi-faceted in nature and include both business process and system components.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:* Seven + years experience in general management, consulting, or project management in the following subject areas: healthcare revenue cycle, SOX implementation, finance, audit, or healthcare systems.* One to two years in a health plan, managed care, medical group, or hospital organization preferred.* Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or other related field. * At a minimum, the incumbent must exhibit thorough knowledge in at least one: - Healthcare finance and accounting practices- Healthcare revenue cycle management- SOX implementation requirements, approaches, and industry interpretations.* The incumbent must exhibit strong experience and demonstrated understanding in a preponderance of the following areas:- Operations and/or business of KP or a similar Healthcare System- Revenue cycle management and any applicable regulatory requirements- Financial controls and audit- Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and approaches for implementation- Change implementationPREFERRED CREDENTIALS:* Masters degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, or other related field preferred.* Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or other related certification preferred.ADDITIONAL INFO:Kaiser Permanente offers exceptional benefits.
