Location Novato, CA Summary



Under the direction of the Assistant Corporate Controller, assures that the assigned day-to-day operations of general accounting and internal reporting are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies and objectives.

 

Responsibilities

 

Ø Assist in all aspects of the accounting cycle; including AR, AP, General Ledger, Month-end Close, etc.

 

Ø Prepare analyses and supporting schedules for interim management reports, quarterly reviews and year-end audits.

 

Ø Interface with managers and staff within the organization as well as auditors and other external organizations in such a way as to demonstrate a helpful, cooperative, knowledgeable attitude without relinquishing internal controls and procedures.

 

Ø The incumbent is expected to recommend procedural changes that would improve accuracy, efficiency, and internal control.

 

Ø Lead and participate in the development and completion of special projects and ad hoc requests.

 

Requirements



Ø Four-year accounting degree with 4+ years of recent experience.  Public accounting experience a plus.



Ø Knowledge of GAAP accounting and auditing principles, exceptionally strong analytical skills, and the ability to be attentive to detail.



Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



Ø Familiarity with computerized accounting systems in a networked environment.  Advanced experience in MS Excel and proficiency in MS Word or similar word processing software.  Recent prior system conversion experience highly desirable but not required.
