WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist the Assistant Controller/Controller with month-end close, year-end audit, account reconciliations, fixed assets and ad hoc analysis.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

· Assist the Assistant Controller with month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, pre-closing P&L analysis, and ad hoc analysis/research.

· Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting package, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement with supporting schedules and analysis.

· Tracking of catalog production costs and preparing amortization schedules.

· Audit service vendor billings to contracts and verify compliance.

· Participate in developing annual business plan, budgets and forecasts.

· Responsible for fixed asset accounting and depreciation using FAS software, to include capitalized labor analysis and reconciliation.

· Participate in annual audit with external auditors.

· Assist Assistant Controller in financial analysis and ad hoc reports

· Review and improve internal controls

Position Requirements:

· Bachelor Degree in Accounting, working toward CPA preferred

· 3+ years of Accounting experience in a retail, product manufacturing or wholesale distribution company with annual sales in excess of $25M

· High level of Excel and Access skills, including report formatting, data analysis and presentation

· Must be highly detail oriented and inquisitive

· Proven self-starter with capacity to multi-task and resolve multiple challenges in a fast paced environment needing little supervision.

· Great Plains experience highly desirable.
