Staff Accountant

Overview:

Provide accounting support within the Controllership group.

 

Essential Functions:Analyze and reconcile corporate general ledger accounts including certain inter-company, defined benefits, worker’s compensation and other miscellaneous corporate accounting activitiesReview account reconciliations related to moderate/highly complex cash account activities with concentration on reporting, research and resolution of reconciling itemsAssist the Corporate Accounting Manager in making recommendations regarding the accounting for reserves, assets, and expendituresReview and analyze the monthly Corporate Profit Performance Plan ReportAssist in the annual Corporate budget processAssist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules and internal and external reporting packages Act as liaison and resource between Controller’s Department and field units on variety of accounting policies and procedures and general ledger posting issuesReview the approval for capital expenditures for all capital and major expense projects of BNAComplete government reporting requirements regarding PP&EPerform the SAP month-end closing and consolidations for fixed assets and maintain the fixed asset accounting record systemAnalyze fixed asset activity and prepare reports for managementPost depreciation to the general ledgerCoordinate month end closing including entering data in Bunge’s global accounting and reporting system - Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)Complete the HFM fixed asset rollforwardProvide assistance to the internal and external auditorsMaintain information on leasing

· Assist with budgeting and forecasting and with the month-end closing process

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:B.A. or B.S. degree in accounting and a minimum of three to five years of accounting experienceCPA certification preferredPrior SAP fixed asset experience is a plusExperience with Hyperion Financial Manager is desiredSound knowledge of personal computers and applicationsExcellent communications skills within all levels of the organizationStrong problem solving and analytical skills needed to be successful in positionSuperior time management skills so as to meet deadlinesAbility to analyze work flow and develop the most efficient work schedule/methodologyAbility to perform with limited supervision and resolve problems in a timely manner
