Staff Accountant - Critical Position

Accountant position at Presbyterian Children’s Village plays a vital role in the financial operations of the agency as part of a small, close-knit Finance Department.  The Finance Department handles all financial responsibilities of the agency including accounts payable, petty cash, payroll, billing, cash receipts, financial reporting, budgeting and annual financial audit preparation and participation.

 

Presbyterian Children’s Village is a private, nonprofit agency providing a wide range of child welfare, behavioral health and therapeutic programs for over 125 years.  PCV helps troubled children and their families overcome their problems and grow emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually.

 

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the following:

 

·  Preparing standard and recurring journal entries

·  Bank account reconciliations

·  All bi-weekly payroll processing and related reporting requirements

·  Preparation of invoices for program funded contracts and the related

  budget information reporting requirements

·  Fixed asset reconciliation and documentation maintenance

·  Serve as an information resource to employees, Human Resources, program supervisors and external funding contacts

·  Preparation of supplemental reports and worksheets as required internal use and   external annual audits

The Staff Accountant reports to the Finance Manager and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer who will provide in-depth training and support with an emphasis on understanding the underlying processes to allow the employee to grow in responsibility in the position.  If you are willing to learn from the occasional mistake while contributing to improving the lives of children in need, this may be the position for you. PCVS has two locations, Rosemont, PA and our newer site in Southwest Philadelphia.  This position is based on our Rosemont Campus set on 43 beautiful acres in a residential area and is home to our Residential program with 6 Cottage living units and an on-site school.

Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent related experience, an experienced Excel user, knowledge of Great Plains, ADP payroll software a plus.
