General Definition: Entry level professional position in our Fredericksburg Office performing a wide variety of accounting and auditing related tasks under the supervision of a senior accountant, manager or an officer of the firm. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Performance of duties requires extensive travel throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia during audit season, variable work schedules and the ability to act in a professional and confidential manner. Requisite Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must have a degree in accounting and be qualified to sit for the CPA exam. Understanding of detailed concepts of commercial and governmental accounting. Ability to analyze data quickly from a variety of sources. Ability to organize and schedule tasks to completion. Ability to verbally communicate ideas in both small and large group settings. Ability to gain and maintain confidence of clients. Understanding of operations of local governments. Familiarity with a wide variety of PC based software including MS Word, Excel, etc.
