Staff Accountant III - Accounting Job Description

We are in search of an Accounting professional who is an expert in SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance) and who has extensive experience with Inventory Reporting and Analysis.
Provide quarterly reviews and testing of all Sarbanes-Oxley scoped processes to ensure the company is in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Assist in the supervision of coordination and completion of the month end close process. Maintain the general ledger system and complete the final procedures (tax and equity adjustments) to close the month. Maintain and review documents that support financial records for audit purposes including researching any discrepancies and developing corrective actions in a timely manner (i.e. invoices, bank statements, debt agreements, and lease agreements). Assist in the completion and compilation of the annual financial statements and the related support schedules (spreadsheet with supporting detailed explanations to lessors and Delta) Assist in staff development, evaluations, constructive feedback, discipline and on-going coaching ensuring activities are performed within labor union contract, all state and federal legal parameters, department and Comair policy. Develop staff by providing direction and support and giving essential feedback when needed.
Develop accounting procedures for certain financial standards (Delta counsel, Board of Directors)guidelines. Prepare monthly cash flow statements and balance sheets fluctuation reports (explanation of cash flow statements) for Delta Financial Reporting and DCI. Provide monthly inventory account reconciliations. Prepare weekly and monthly inventory reports. Prepare various inventory related journal entires. Analyze inventory variances and make inventory adjustments. Perform other duties as assigned

 



Requirements


Staff Accountant III - Accounting Job RequirementsRequires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field, which is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent. CPA strongly preferred. Minimum 6 to 8 years of previous experience required in general, professional level accounting or finance experience required. Experience with general ledger software, preferably Lawson, required. Previous leadership or supervisory experience required. Prefer public accounting experience including preparation of annual financial statements and review of supporting work papers and documents. Experience in Sarbanes-Oxley documents and testing required. Previous experience in Inventory Reporting and Analysis required.
