Staff Auditor

SUMMARY

As a member of the Corporate Internal Audit Team, provides support for Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 and related regulatory requirements.  In this role, the incumbent will assist in the planning and execution of activities and documentation supporting management’s assessment of the Company’s internal controls over financial reporting.  The incumbent may assist with other audit activities as time permits.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESObtain and maintain a general understanding of business activities, objectives, applicable laws, regulations, and associated risks to the Company.Assist in the research and interpretation of technical issues from PCAOB and related authorities.Assist in the communication of Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements across the CompanyAssist in the maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley 404 Documentation, including working with process owners to ensure the timely review and update of documentation.Assess whether identified primary controls are effective at mitigating risks for which they are designed to mitigate.Assist in the development and execution of Sarbanes Oxley 404 test plans, including sample selection methodology.Prepare audit documentation, within budgeted time frames, to support work performed and results drawn in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors and department standards.Recommend, as necessary, improvements in processes and control designAssist in the monitoring of control deficiency remediation and closure with managementCommunicate status of Sarbanes Oxley compliance efforts to the Manager, SOX Compliance.Partner with process owners to promote and support a continuous culture of process improvement and efficiency.

 QUALIFICATIONS

 BS Degree Accounting/Finance preferred.  Minimum 2 years audit experience or related experience with prior industry experience a plusDirect Sarbanes Oxley experience helpful, but not requiredStrong knowledge of GAAP, internal control and corporate governance concepts a plusAbility to use tact and diplomacy in professional relationships and observe strict confidentiality, when necessaryAbility to work independently and through othersDetail oriented, but able to understand and apply situations to the global pictureStrong analytical thinker with ability to proactively identify issues and assist in their resolutionExcellent written and verbal communications style, collaborative management and team player qualitiesExcellent computer skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (i.e. excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)Willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & OTHER SPECIALIZED DUTIES PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 Compliance with company Ethics Policy & Rules of Conduct.Work in a team based integrated environment which fosters collaboration and idea sharing.Work is generally performed under general office conditions in a temperature controlled environment.  Associate may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.

 

Position will be located either at the Carson, Ca. or Monrovia, Ca. facility.
