State and Local Tax Manager

We are currently seeking a Manager with primary expertise in multi-state income tax. The State and Local Tax Practice is responsible for providing services to all Moss Adams practice offices. This position is located within the State and Local tax practice residing in the Los Angeles office.Managers are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in their specialty area, leadership through their participation in one or more Firm industry groups, and have a strong commitment to quality control initiatives.Moss Adams's Los Angeles office is located on Wilshire Blvd in West Los Angeles, situated between Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.Responsibilities: Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations Identify and sell opportunities for tax planning and other special services Manage the work of client service team members. Participate in and contribute to attaining team goals Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Lead in developing recommendations and implementation plans and make informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas Research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and franchise tax issuesQualifications: Minimum of three years of experience in taxation, with at least one year of experience in state and local tax issues Experience in public accounting and/or a state and local government revenue department is an advantage Expertise in multi-state income tax is required Experience with property, employment, sales/use, gross receipts and other miscellaneous state and local taxes is a plus Bachelor's degree required.  CPA with Masters in Taxation or a Juris Doctorate with a LLM in Tax is a plus Experience training and supervising staff and seniors Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required Must be a highly motivated self-starter and have experience in managing multiple client engagements Senior accountant with similar experience will be consideredTo apply, please submit your cover letter and resume to SALT.Recruiting@mossadams.com Moss Adams is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
