TAX MANAGER - CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTING FIRM

We are a growing Certified Public Accounting firm seeking an individual to manage our diversified tax practice and to be an integral part of management.  Qualified candidates must be licensed CPAs with a minimum of seven years of tax experience in the public accounting area; a masters degree in taxation is preferable and experience in consolidated and multi-state tax issues is required.  We cover a diverse client base providing tax planning, research and compliance.  We service mid-market, closely-held companies and work closely with successful entrepreneurs and high wealth individuals in order to maximize their financial and tax strategies.

We are a long-establish firm with an excellent client retention serving largely for-profit clients including construction companies, manufacturing, wholesale, retail, the service industry and other businesses.  Our non-profit entities include private foundations, social service organizations and private colleges.  Tax and estate planning is a critical part of serving our closely-held business clients and their owners as well as our high-wealth individuals, all having intricate tax and estate planning needs.  This position involves client interaction and involvement, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical to the success of serving the clients and managing the tax department.

Our services include audit, review, tax and advisory and support services to varied industries.  We also provide business valuations for estate and gift tax purposes.  We have been members of the AICPA for many years and thus subject to peer review standards.  We are also qualified peer reviewers and achieve the highest level of reporting to maintain this standard.

As tax manager for this firm, the position requires ongoing oversight and technical updates and responsibility for quality control and compliance with technical standards for tax reporting.  In addition, this position is responsible for the annual training in preparation of the tax season using materials that we have developed over many years.  We have a state-of-the-art network computer system with all relevant software.  Oversight includes management of other tax professionals in the firm as well as the auditors and accountants performing tax functions.
