TAX SEN Senior Tax Analyst / Sr. Tax AssociateThe best Tax Accountant candidates will have at least 1to 5 years of experience with a public accounting or taxpreparation firm, a sound knowledge of accounting rulesand regulations, excellent communication skills, be ateam player and have the energy and desire to succeed inthis industry. CPA preferred, but not required. FAS 109 experience highly desired, please identify anyFAS109 experience on your resume!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Adhere to the highest degree of professional standardsand strict client confidentiality. Deliver a full range of State and Local Tax servicesincluding tax return preparation and review, taxresearch, preparation of technical memorandums, anddrafting client correspondence. Assignments includereverse sales tax reviews, audit defense, and researchof sales tax issues. Conduct multi-disciplinary, multi-state reviews thatanalyze income, franchise, sales and use, payroll,valorem taxes, and others to identify optimal filingoptions, exemptions, credits and incentives, andcorporate structures that can reduce the client's taxburden. Prepare returns for more complex State and Local Taxreturns including Income and Franchise Tax, Sales andUse Tax, Property Tax, etc. and demonstrate anunderstanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Research and consult on various tax matters utilizetax-related software to prepare and process returns andresearch tax matters. Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxauthorities. Perform other job-related duties as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Accounting. (CPA preferred) Two to four years of progressive State and Local Taxcompliance and/or tax consulting experience experiencein public accounting is a plus. Broad exposure to State and Local Taxes includingknowledge in State Income/Franchise Tax, Credits andIncentives, Sales and Use Tax, with Property Tax a plusmust be eager to work on a variety of SALT issues andnot specialize in one particular area. Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in USGAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns,and combined state tax returns. Exceptional client service and communication skills witha demonstrated ability to develop and maintainoutstanding client relationships. Ability to manage multiple engagements and competingprojects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive,results-based team environment. Excellent analytical, organizational, and projectmanagement skills and strong attention to detail.
