Tax Accountant/Payroll Processor

Principal Accountabilities:
 Ensure timely and accurate posting and report distribution of weekly and monthly payroll journal entries from ADP to Oracle. Assist corporate and field accountants with payroll related questions and supply Access ad hoc reports as requested. Monthly reconciliation of payroll liability accounts and assist with payroll bank reconciliation. Maintain Lawson security access and GL account tables Reconciliation and transmission of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tax liability files to ADP Reconciliation of payroll accounts.  Review and resolve federal and state tax notices and monitor employee tax set ups for accuracy and compliance.  Supply information for internal and external SOX, financial and tax audits. Responsible for processing timely and accurate day-to-day processing of multi-state, bi-weekly payroll schedules and other payroll related functions Review and audit hours reported; set up, confirm payroll run, and pay calendar and train new payroll processors Assist with payroll processing including direct deposits, tax forms, and garnishments as needed Act as a resource person for all payroll related payroll-processing issues including HRIS, HR, and Benefits Identify and document any actual or potential payroll related compliance issues Project support as needed. 20% processing, 80% accounting and tax Ability to act as Manager in the Payroll Manager's absence.

Qualifications:
 Four year degree required in a related field and/or equivalent related work experience 5 years minimum payroll accounting and payroll tax experience Must possess advanced proficiency in MS Excel ADP, Payforce software is required Attention to detail and accuracy a must Excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve problems Excellent communications skills both oral and written and ability to communicate with all levels in the organization Individual should be action oriented, customer focused, and have the ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast paced environment Individual must be highly analytical, organized and possess strong time management skills Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to function in a cooperative team approach Must possess strong ethical standards regarding the handling of confidential information.
