Tax Accountant with Stable Company in San Dimas, Heavy Provisioning!

Public utility service company seeks a Tax Specialist for a direct hire position.  Top three proficiencies needed to applyinclude familiarity with consolidated multi state and federal tax returns, tax provision calculations and advanced use of Excel (specifically must be familiar with pivot tables and V Look ups).This public utility company is a division of a larger holding company traded on the NYSE and provides service to 75 communities in the South West United states.  This is a stable company established over 80 years ago. Detailed Duties include the following: income tax provisions and related SEC footnote disclosures, federal state and local income tax return filings, estimated tax payment computations, tax projections, including ratemaking-related, regulatory agency filings as well as preparing and reviewing: tax depreciation computations, payroll deposits and return filings, information return filing, property tax filings, transaction tax filings.  Finally this Tax Specialist will perform federal, state and local tax research in support of compliance and planning and prepare tax-related correspondence. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline. Four years of experience performing corporate tax and accounting work. FAS 109 tax accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of business tax compliance, with focus on federal and state corporate income tax compliance (including consolidation/combination); proficiency with tax-preparation software, including import functions. Utility experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft applications; advanced Excel skills preferred.
