Position:  Tax Accounting Administrative Assistant

Our firm has been in business for over 30 years and is well respected in the community. We represent established clients involved in various industries with complex tax, legal, and accounting problems.  We have work in Mexico and Texas. Our practice is active year round within a friendly relaxed professional atmosphere.

We are seeking a professional individual early in their career to fill an open position within our firm. The position we have available includes bookkeeping, secretarial, administrative, and support services related to tax, accounting, and legal work. We need an individual who can work with computers and has an aptitude in both numbers and language. The position will be both demanding and satisfying for the right individual. Our firm offers ample opportunity for learning, growth, and advancement.

The successful candidate will understand and make substantive decisions concerning their work and must have the ability to complete projects from start to finish without direct supervision. Among other duties, the position generally includes:

*Accounts payable, payroll, and other bookkeeping functions
*Typing correspondence and legal documents
*Finalizing tax returns and legal documents
*Maintaining office and client files
*General management of the office

We are looking for a person with the following qualifications:

*College degree or equivalent experience
*Experience with Peachtree or QuickBooks accounting programs
*Experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs
*Maintains a good attitude
*Desire and ability to work in a team environment
*Ability to work without direct supervision
*Excellent organizational skills
*Willingness to learn and accept responsibility
*Ability to multi task
*Great attention to detail
*Desire to continue formal education
*Knowledge of business and tax law a plus
