TAX COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Swagelok Company is a global developer and manufacturer of fluid system components for a variety of industries since 1947. We currently have an exciting opportunity available at our Solon location.

Position Summary:

The Tax Compliance Manager is responsible for all federal, state and local tax compliance and audits. Also responsible for preparation and review of provision for income taxes. Responsible for the direct supervision of the tax staff. Responsible for the maintenance of tax records and the preparation of tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with all tax regulations. Responsible for administering the tax research and planning functions as they relate to determining tax consequences to the corporation.

Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review federal consolidated tax return and workpapers.Review state and local tax returns and workpapers.Monitor and review areas with potential tax exposure.Provide technical tax advice through research, communication with external consultants and advisors.Manage all aspects of federal, state, local, and foreign tax audits and inquiries.Manage all aspects of federal, state, local, and foreign tax compliance matters.Manage all aspects of tax related financial statement mattersMonitor and analyze evolving tax laws and regulations.Drive implementation of tax saving opportunities to improve after-tax results.Participate in various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, vacation schedules, and the training and development of the tax staff.

Position Requirements:

Education: Work requires thorough knowledge of accounting and tax principles generally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a directly related field. CPA license required.

Experience: Work requires the ability to apply complex tax and other accounting principles, identify and analyze tax and other accounting questions and develop solutions responsive to those questions, and coordinate the implementation of solutions, generally acquired through a minimum of eight years of tax or other accounting experience in a public accounting forum, corporate tax environment, or related setting; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Skills: Proficient in computer skills including tax research software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software. Exposure to tax compliance software. Excellent communication skills, written and oral, technical and non-technical. Strong work habits, multitasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
