Tax Consultant

The Mergis Group, a division of Spherion Corporation, is currently seeking Tax Consultants for an immediate contract need.  Seeking sales and use tax compliance experience and tax professionals to prepare corporate, state & local, federal and international returns.   Responsibilities include the following: Compliance with tax filing requirements.  Incumbent will ensure that business operations are appropriately reflected in the various filings. Will support and assist the tax team on tax audits, tax controversies, and understanding tax implications of business changes.  Develop and update tax workpapers.  Tax return preparation. Assist with tax audits and controversy matters as needed. Support operational changes and its related impact. Keep updated with current tax developments and its impact to the company.  Qualifications:Must have a Bachelor's degree and previous related experience in tax return preparation.
