Tax Manager Job DescriptionProvide strong leadership in area of tax accounting and tax controls and take ownership of tax accounting. Manage and coordinate all tax accounting related matters. Responsible for quarterly and annual on-book income tax provisions in financial statements and its disclosure.  Ensure accuracy of the tax accounts for all reporting purposes including SEC filings, filing for other regulatory authorities and roll-up reporting Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to reflect and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404 (“SOX 404”). Track uncertain tax positions and determine FIN 48 for TFS group and ensure its successful adoption. Monitor and assess tax risks and exposures by working closely with Planning, Compliance and Audit functions to reflect accurately the changes in tax positions and exposures. Work closely with Accounting/Finance to ensure accuracy of transaction facts and source data for tax provision and tax return reporting. Work with Internal Audit to enhance internal controls of tax accounting processes and ensure compliance with SOX 404. Advise and train tax department and business operation on tax accounting matters. Assist Tax Compliance Manager in preparation and filing of income tax returns, estimates and extensions Manage tax reporting on Like-Kind-Exchange and assets backed securitizations. Improve and streamline compliance and provision processes to gain efficiency and enhance accuracy.

 

 

Essential Tax Manager Skills & CharacteristicsBS in AccountingMaster’s degree in Business Taxation a plusCPA license required5-7years  tax experience blended between a Big 4 firm and industryStrong tax accounting skills and FAS 109 experienceSOX 404 experiencePossess strong analytical and technical skills and research abilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience with financial services industries preferred
