POSITION DETAILS
We are searching for the right candidate to join our team as a Tax Manager or our Corporate Office.
Primary objectives of this position are:
The role of US Tax Manager forms a key part of the group's finance function. You will work closely with the finance teams in Florida, Texas, California, Colorado and Arizona. The post holder would also form part of the extended worldwide tax team of the Taylor Wimpey group, working closely with tax professionals based in the UK and Canada, and external advisers.
Primary responsibilities:
· Responsibility for considering and implementing US planning initiatives.
· Responsibility for US tax compliance at the Federal and State level, including the management of external tax advisers and provision of data to compliance outsourcing support team.
· Responsibility for preparation of tax reporting to UK parent under IFRS.
· Responsibility for forecasting of tax provisions in budgets and plans.
· Responsibility for preparation of calculations for cash tax installments of the US group.
· Responsibility for preparing schedules of capitalized interest and inventory provisions deductible for tax purposes.
· Management of any Federal or State tax audits.
· Reviewing structure and opportunities to minimize applicable operating taxes such as property, sales and use and payroll, as well as seeking opportunities for grants and incentives.
· Provision of advice and support to both finance and non-financial management teams on tax issues including communication of key tax issues and initiatives.
· Input into transfer pricing positions, policy and documentation for intra-group activity in terms of any services and financing provided to and by the US group.
· Support to finance team on accounting and consolidation issues as required.
Qualifications:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance
§ Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
§ Minimum five to seven (5 to 7) years taxation, accounting, and management experience
§ Led the management of IRS enquiries.
§ Experience with finance and accounting systems and software
§ Accounting experience, preferably in the homebuilding, land development and construction industry.
§ Knowledge of cost accounting (specifically construction industry).
§ Excellent communication and computer skills
POSITION PREFERENCES:
§ Excellent knowledge of IAS, IFRS
§ Strong knowledge of accounting for taxes
§ Proven ability to partner with business functions
§ Ability to write memoranda and reports
§ Ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions from a variety of constituencies
