Job Title: Tax Manager

Job Location: Goleta, CA

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·  Prepare annual and quarterly tax provisions for the financial statements and budgets of a public company in accordance with FAS 109 & FIN 48.

·  Coordinate with outside tax firms for annual tax return preparation, worldwide.

·  Handle all international tax issues including transfer pricing; coordinate with outside tax firms regarding local taxation laws and regulations.

·  Prepare and/or review quarterly transfer pricing calculation.

·  Provide quarterly and annual FIN 48 analysis.

·  Research tax consequences for potential mergers/acquisitions or dispositions/dissolutions.

·  Review all monthly and quarterly sales tax returns for multiple states.

·  Ensure timely tax payments for income tax, sales tax and other business taxes.

·  Track all tax payments and liabilities for worldwide entities.

·  Research all payroll tax and 1099 issues, including stock compensation.

·  Periodically assess international tax structure.

·  Worldwide tax planning.

·  Deliver timely and accurate financial information. 

·  Understand and seek to improve all procedures affecting month end, quarter end, and year end reporting and reviews/audits.

·  Prepare audit schedules and provide financial and tax audit support related to areas of responsibility.

·  Assess, recommend and implement system needs and improvements.

·  Review and write SOX documentation related to areas of responsibility and maintain SOX compliance.

·  Provide recommendations to accounting and finance regarding tax advantages and strategies.

·  Provide regular tax updates to accounting and finance management.

·  Evaluate the company’s tax structure and ensure that it is optimized.

·  Point person for all tax audits.

 

Education and/or Experience

 

·  Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year accredited college or university.

·  Minimum of five years experience and/or training in domestic and international taxation.

·  At least two years previous supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

·  Active CPA license.
