Tax Manager - Manufacturing

Our tax planning for businesses and individuals encompasses a wide range of compliance and consulting services including cost segregation, estate planning, multi-state and international tax, like-kind exchanges, business succession, recapitalizations and representation before tax authorities, start-up business structuring, property tax, and state and local tax (SALT).

Our Chicago Office is looking for a Tax Manager and a Senior Tax Manufacturing to join their Manufacturing/Distribution Group.

Responsibilities:As a Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager in Tax Services at Virchow Krause you will find an exceptional opportunity to develop professionally through exposure to all facets-planning, research, compliance, and business development – of our diverse and expanding tax practice. You will use your extensive knowledge about each one of our clients to get an in depth understanding of their entire tax situation in order to provide creative and objective guidance for proactive, year-round tax planning that will minimize client tax liabilities while complying with local, state, federal and international tax laws.
-Direct all phases of tax engagement planning and administration
-Assist in developing and maintaining quality tax staff
-Maintain positive relationships with key business contacts and actively develop new contacts
-Promote efficiencies through planning and you will act as a liaison between the client and partner

Qualifications:

-CPA required
-MST, MBT or JD or other advanced degree with an emphasis in tax is preferred but not required
-Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-For Tax Managers: a minimum of 5 years of well rounded experience working in a public accounting firm environment
-For Senior Tax Managers: a minimum of 8 – 10 years of well rounded experience working in a public accounting firm environment with a proven track record in managing staff and growing an operation
-Must be passionate about tax planning and research and have the ability to think creatively while maintaining a strong commitment to complying with tax laws
-Experience with partnerships, C-Corporations, S-Corporations and other flow through entities
-Excellent communications skills, the ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and competent technical skills
-International or SALT highly preferred
