In conjunction with the growth of the Company, the Tax function has also continued to grow and continues to need additional staff to meet expanding responsibilities. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to participate in an established corporate tax function and gain exposure to complex transactions and diverse activities. We have a very knowledgeable group of tax professionals who work in an energized team environment. All team members play an integral role in implementing strategic initiatives of the department. We are seeking candidates for several positions as outlined below:

We are looking for individuals to take over the responsibility for such duties as new blocks of business. This includes the development of an integrated system and processes to ensure that there is a streamlined and efficient operation. Responsibilities will also include the oversight of the Great West tax accounting and compliance activities, conducting tax research, analysis and planning to ensure tax optimization throughout the organization, identification of existing and potential tax risks, liabilities and savings opportunities along with recommendations regarding options/actions to take, liaison activities with internal business units and staff management.

 

We are also looking experienced tax professionals to assist with the responsibilities discussed above. These individuals should have 2 - 5 years of taxation and/or accounting experience. Successful candidates will have the ability to analyze and interpret financial data as well as communicate effectively. We are looking for high performing, results oriented individuals that work well in a team environment.

 

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree
- Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas, along with well-developed and applied management and supervisory skills are required.
- Successful candidates will have 2-10 years of accounting and taxation experience, holding significant roles in large tax functions, which would ideally include Big 4 and corporate experience.
- Extensive understanding of FAS 109 requirements is desired.
- We are looking for individuals with excellent interpersonal skills and executive presence along with well-developed management and supervisory skills.
- Financial services and/or life insurance experience
- Experience with SAP and/or Corptax are pluses.

 

An advanced degree and/or CPA preferred
