Tax Senior (Compliance and Audit Defense)

Our client, an Atlanta-based privately held company, who is known as a dynamic leader in its industry, is seeking a Tax Senior for their Corporate Tax department. The position is located at their corporate headquarters in Atlanta. The position is open due to a growth. The position reports to the Senior Tax Manager. The department has approximately 40 professionals comprised of 2vps, 4 directors and the remaining pool is a mix of Sr. Managers, Managers and Seniors.  Seniors will obtain cross-training in several areas if not currently specialized. Job Responsibilities:The Senior Tax Specialist position will have a primary concentration on Federal and State audit defense projects and will work with a various other members of the Tax department on compliance and other projects. The Senior Tax Specialist will report to a Senior Tax Manager. Other responsibilities include:  Preparation of files that will be given to auditors during the course of audit fieldwork Physical presence during state audit fieldwork Preparation of responses to both federal and state information document requests Preparation of quarterly state audit calendar Preparation and review of state income tax returns Preparation of audit reports/technical state notices Job Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Accounting 2 - 5 years experience with in a Big Four accounting firm or similar environment CPA preferred Word resumes only Must be authorized to work in US No relocation assistance is available
