Tax Services Marketing Manager
Overview:Responsible for the development, implementation, and overall management of the firmwide tax services marketing plan which may include advertising, public relations, direct mail, newsletters, sponsorships, seminars, webinars, special events, and various client communications. Utilizes a range of skills and experience to research, plan, execute, and respond to market opportunities. This position works closely with the firm Managing Partner of Tax Services and Tax Services Operations Manager to implement effective strategies to attract and retain clients and support new business development opportunities.
Responsibilities:Marketing Management
• Along with Tax Services Operations Manager, develops, implements, and manages annual Tax Services marketing plans and business plan marketing initiatives.
• Provides marketing strategy and tactical support to Tax Services teams.
• Works closely with the Regional Tax Leaders and Regional Marketing Managers on local implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives.
• Researches the market, competitors, and the firm’s capabilities, and develops appropriate marketing programs to help attract and retain clients.
• Conducts internal and external research associated to specific targeting efforts.
• Participates in certain proposals when appropriate.
• Maintains and updates proposal language for firmwide proposal content database.
• Assists with implementation of firm marketing initiatives as directed by Firm Management and the Firm Marketing Director.
• Leads and/or participates in special projects as directed by Managing Partner of Tax Services and/or Tax Services Operations Manager.
Public Relations, Communications & Advertising
• Manages communications for Tax Services through the Tax Portal/VK View, the external VK website, and other appropriate channels, including generating story ideas, monitoring competitive news, announcing staff news and promotions, and developing specialized strategies for communicating other regional events.
• Creates and edits a wide range of internal and external communications, which may include service fliers, mass client mailings, niche newsletters, hot topic mailings, direct mail, templates, and lead generation campaigns.
• Works closely with Regional Marketing Managers to execute firm Tax Services news releases in the regional media.
• Ensures Tax Services compliance with firm identity standards and other firm guidelines which includes use of logos, emblems, and brand messages used in printed material, advertising, advertising specialties.
Special Projects and Responsibilities
• Develops and implements communications and collateral to promote the objectives of the Tax Services Committee.
• Plans and implements special event planning, seminars, trade show events, webinars, and other special projects related to Tax Services.
• Is proficient in the use of firmwide database.
• Implements Tax Service client survey process as directed in conjunction with firm survey process guidelines.
• Supports overall firm marketing initiatives by keeping open communication with firm marketing director, and other marketing professionals; collaborates with marketing peers to share best practices and effectively support the firm’s marketing initiatives.
• May also support a specific marketing initiative as part of a firm project, such as niche development, new service rollout, website redesign, and marketing processes/procedures.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending appropriate marketing-related association meetings, seminars, and/or conferences.
• Collaborates with marketing peers to share best practices and effectively support the firm’s marketing initiatives.
Qualifications:Position requires individuals with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field, and a minimum of five years marketing experience. May require prior management experience. Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills required and experience with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign preferred. Marketing experience in a professional services environment preferred. Requires diplomacy, creativity, and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a time-sensitive environment. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff from entry level to partners and work well in a team-focused environment. High-level verbal and written communication skills required.
