AWR is seeking a Tax Staff member for our Corporate Tax group.  Tax Staff are expected to demonstrate the working and personal characteristics that enhance professional development and productivity. 

 

Responsibilities:

·  Responsible for preparation of tax returns

·  Communicate with Managers on the status of returns, backlog and open items

·  Assist other members of the tax department in the areas of tax research, billing, preparation of engagement letters and miscellaneous administrative tasks

·  Be accountable for their time and as a result, be cognizant of budgets established on every task they are assigned to and need to communicate when they are too busy

·  Maintain log books when signed in and out

·  Progress professionally by working toward passing the CPA

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·  Strong understanding on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

·  Understanding of a broad range of accounting issues including those involving higher levels of judgment such as: priority for income taxes, revenue recognition, subsequent events, contingencies and industry specific procedures

·  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·  Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

·  Ability to handle multiple priorities in an efficient manner

·  Knowledge of accounting, audit, tax and related business trends

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

·  BS/BBA/BA Accounting

·  0-3 years experience professional experience, preferably in Public Accounting

·  CPA license preferred but not required
