VP Commodities Market Risk

 

To contribute to the Commodities Market Risk team by accurately assessing and communicating the risks inherent in the activities on the US Commodities business

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Monitor and report market risk for the commodities trading desk, including Greek analysis by risk factor, limit monitoring, Value at Risk, as well as analyzing structured deals.

· Daily analysis of the causes and attributions of market risk which will require a deep knowledge of the desks’ trading strategies and structured products.

· Recognize issues in trading positions/strategies as well as limit breaches and work to resolve them together with the desk, Operations, Finance and IT.

· Maintaining daily contact with the firm’s Commodities Markets traders, operations, IT, risk infrastructure and risk management personnel.

· Establish guiding principles for the identification, assessment, monitoring, controlling and reporting of risk within the group.

· Review risk reporting within Risk Management

 

Requirements:

 

· Financial or quantitative undergraduate or post graduate degree.

· 5 to 7 years experience in finance/capital markets.

· Must have a demonstrated understanding of risk management, Value at Risk, stress testing and various ‘Greeks’ used in risk reporting.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to function as a diligent, reliable team member.

· The ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

· Effective time-management and prioritization skills.

· Self-starter with sound project management, decisions making and problem solving skills.

· Strong excel skills, VBA or C++ programming skills a plus.
