Location: Austin, TXYour location:home   »  find a job   »  advanced search   »  job description Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend Our client, an A- rated, publicly traded Life Insurance and Annuity Company has retained us to recruit a VP, Controller & Assistant Treasurer.  This position will be located at their headquarters in Austin, TX.  Chartered in 1956, the company does business in forty-nine states, the District of Columbia and four U.S. territories or possessions. The company operates within segments organized along product types and geographic marketing areas. This individual will have a strong background in the insurance and/or annuity industry.  The VP will manage a team of at least 12 and will report directly to the CFO.  The chosen candidate will come into the organization with the proven knowledge and experience necessary for rapid and effective integration into the organizational processes. Ideal Candidate:·  Bachelor’s degree & CPA required.·  Demonstrated experience in the life insurance industry in a similar position; additional annuity background is preferred.·  Will have full, hands on ownership of SEC Reporting and SOX controls, compliance and audits.·  Experience with Statutory Reporting and GAAP.·  Must be willing to take charge of current and future system upgrade efforts, including system maintenance, defining system requirements and making recommendations.·  Ability to streamline projects through multiple departments to ensure accuracy and completion.·  Must be able to work independently, identify problems and make recommendations as to the course of the organization.·  Tax knowledge is preferred.  To validate your interest please: All submissions are confidential.
