The Vice President of Tax Accounting will be instrumental in a financial services firm that has a strong national presence in commercial real estate lending and is headquartered in Chicago.

 

Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with all current state tax laws and regulations Monitor changes and proposed changes in tax laws and regulationsResearch potential tax issues associated with foreclosuresActivities include acquisitions, on-going management, and ultimate sale of commercial real estate properties, generally condominium, construction, and conversion projectsCollaborate with internal counsel and other internal departments in structuring various subsidiary companiesRecommend tax savings opportunities and develop tax planning strategiesSupervise preparation of corporate federal and state tax returns and quarterly payment estimatesReview of benefit plan tax returnsReview and approve tax accrual and reconciliations of deferred taxes to general ledgerCoordinate tax audit activities and represent company in discussions with tax authorities

 

Requirements:Masters Degree in Tax required; CPA preferred6-10 years relevant tax experience, including FIN 48Significant multi-state tax experience in the financial services industryExperience with Microsoft Office software with a strong focus on ExcelExcellent analytical and communication skillsAbility to effectively deal with all levels of management and outside third-parties
