Web Analyst

 

The Web Analyst will utilize online user metrics to proactively identify opportunities and provide actionable recommendations that continuously improve and maximize marketing effectiveness, revenue, customer acquisition and retention, and website usability. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for analyzing data to identify trends and make actionable recommendations, develop and execute optimization tests, and continuously improve business intelligence and results.  The Web Analyst will work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams across multiple channels to identify, track and report on KPIs.

 



Duties and Responsibilities Identify and measure key performance metrics including visitor growth, user acquisition, conversion, revenue, repeat visitors and content consumption Identify, analyze and monitor key user segments Work with Marketing team to send targeted follow-up communications to website visitors Recommend A/B and other test plans, analyze results and recommend improvements Track usability metrics and optimize customer experience Set up tracking URLs for ad campaigns; monitor traffic and report on results Work with DM teams to optimize landing page performance and online conversion Forecast performance of email, DM to online, and ad campaigns Proactively identify important usage trends and recommended actions Analyze on-site search usage to maximize relevance and effectiveness Maximize conversion in online store and shopping cart Monitor effectiveness of Web 2.0 communications Create visitor “engagement” metrics to analyze online communication effectiveness Train colleagues to use analytics software and reporting Provide reports and dashboards including trending, analysis, and recommendations Stay abreast of web analytics trends and best practices

Minimum 2 years web analytics experience including measurement, testing, benchmarks and terminology Familiarity with basic analytical techniques including clickstream and funnel analyses, and conversion optimization Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to form hypotheses and draw meaningful patterns and insights from multiple data sources In-depth experience with online communications including websites, e-commerce, online searching, email, and Web 2.0 Understanding of internet business models Ability to be a team player in a dynamic and diverse team of colleagues Self-motivated, deadline-driven, ability to support multiple projects at a time Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail Strong written & verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and explain detailed analysis and reports Basic knowledge of general internet technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and URL structures preferred Proficiency using Microsoft Excel Previous experience with web analytics packages such as Coremetrics or Google Analytics required BA/BS in marketing, business, statistics or related field preferred
