1 st Chief Actuary/Chief Risk Officer opening in Connecticut. This new senior role working alongside the management team reflects the identified need for a new department dedicated to the provision of wide-ranging statistical information to the heads of claims, underwriting, safety, and reinsurance; to the Members individually; to the Membership as a whole and to Board. Responsibilities include: demonstrate good judgment, have strong research and decision making skills and be able tosolve practical problems; ability to analyze and summarize data; interpret results and identify problems or potential problem areas and recommend solutions; compose and produce reports/tables, documents and related material, and answer technical questions regarding the data and trends; ability to gather information and express ideas effectively to individuals and groups at all levels of the business; ability to use highly effective and persuasive communication and presentation skills to provide recommendations and guidance to senior management; superior project management and excellent organizational skills; plan, assign, and direct work of a subordinate; strong written and verbalskills required; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as ratios, discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages; advanced computerskillsworking withdatabases and spreadsheets(for example in depth experience with Microsoft Office programs particularly Excel, Access, PowerPoint). 5 years insurance industry experience with Workers' Compensation insurance a benefit, but not necessary; open to all exam levels. Salary up to $200k.
