ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - PRODUCT COMMUNICATIONS

With a vast global network and a robust product pipeline and U.S. revenues exceeding $2.6 billion, they offer the opportunity for career fulfillment and the chance to make life the best it can be. Currently, they have retained us to source an Associate Director - Product Communications to join their team. Position SummaryThe Associate Director Product Communications will work very closely with marketing product managers to set strategic public relations plans and manage the implementation of multiple global product initiatives using internal staff and outside consultants.   Responsibilities will also include, but not be limited to, performing the following:   Serve as the primary interface between marketing and public relations agencies. Develop opinion leader and third party organization partnerships to proactively promote various product offerings.  Keep abreast of competing products and markets to ensure the proper placement and success of public relations plans. Identify Public Relations opportunities for the company across all divisions. Develop long term strategic public relations programs with marketing product managers Provide day-to-day strategic counsel and present public relations programs to the marketing team. Provide public relations knowledge and expert counsel on competing markets and competitors. Manage the implementation of Public Relations strategies and tactics for product launches, new indications, etc.  Ensures that all press releases, videos and other media venues are approved by inside stakeholders. (Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Medical and Marketing).  Ensures that new product launch media is reviewed by FDA and modified, where needed. Develop relationships with key media outlets on behalf of the company. Proactively contact media to protect and enhance the company's interests.  Explore and develop partnership opportunities for the product portfolio with key third party groups and opinion leaders. Manage relationships with the various public relations firms and other external service providers, and ensure the most efficient and economical utilization of these services to maximize the return of budget dollars. Provide company product material input for Communication and Investor Relations presentations. Travel approximately 20% as necessary. There are 2 Manager Product Communications positions available and they are based in Wayne, NJ.Required Qualifications A BA or BS degree is required. 7 or more years of Public Relations experience is required. Public Relations experience gained from working for a Pharmaceutical Company, Public Relations agency or Hospital is required.  Media relations experience is required. Experience leading and developing staff is required. Experience managing budgets is required.  Experience handling multiple priorities is required. Experience establishing and maintaining communication with media, government agencies and/or opinion leaders is required.  Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills are required.
