Account Executive-New York
Our client and Advertising Agency in New York wants an Account Executive to maintain strong, lasting client relationships based on progress in achieving client’s marketing objectives in a manner that results in a profit to the agency. And, to maintain positive morale and sense of teamwork among agency staff assigned to your accounts.
Reports to Account Supervisor or Management Supervisor.Responsibilities:
· Coordinate the development of the communications plan (or strategic review) in accordance with the client’s objectives and budgets, including a positioning statement and brand character statement.
· Consult with Creative, Media and Account Management to communicate client objectives and to develop alternative strategic solutions.
· Develop annual projections of client gross income.
· Prepare, and receive, client approval of Job Orders with sufficient information so other agency staff can complete client projects in an effective and timely manner.
· Develop timetable for client projects in conjunction with the other members of the account team.
· Guide the day-to-day development of all client projects. Insure that progressive steps in the process are approved with adequate time to meet schedules.
· Keep agency personnel informed of client requests and changes.
· Review all media and creative work prior to submitting to the client for approval.
· Obtain all required client approvals.
· Coordinate with the Media, Creative and Production members of the account team to insure all media deadlines and rotation schedules are accurate and up to date.
· Transmit billing to the client after checking for accuracy and reviewing against estimate.
· Prepare time sheets once a week, at a minimum.
· Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Account Coordinator or AAE assigned to your account.
· Participate in New Business activities as assigned.
· Provide other support as instructed, as needed
· Excellent references and previous work history should include nationally or regionally recognized advertising agency.
· Candidate will be required to provide extensive personal and business information for Army Government Security clearance.
· AE will assist in planning, organizing and coordinating client-focused events, programs and promotions.
· AE will need strong Project Management skills, follow-up and communication skills.
· Excellent prioritizations, team-player, maintain budget status sheet and interpersonal skills are required, including a good sense of humor and the willingness to work some nights and weekends.
· AE must be highly energetic, polished and well organized with good computer skills and competencies are required.
Performance Standards:
· Client satisfaction ratings are high. No major misunderstandings or problems exist between agency and client. As problems arise, they are proactively and satisfactorily dealt with in accordance with company policy.
· Client marketing and advertising objectives are achieved.
· Annual communication plans are prepared and approved by clients.
· Annual competitive media spending and creative message review is presented to client.
· All Job Orders are approved by clients.
· All estimates are approved by clients.
· Clients are profitable.
· Agency staff morale is positive toward clients.
· Time sheets are completed and turned in at least once a week.
Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher level of education with an emphasis on marketing/advertising or media communications
• 5 or more years of related advertising agency experience for a mid-size to large sized nationally recognized advertising agency, on nationally recognized large brands; has worked on brands that are currently running ads on broadcast television, radio, in print and interactive
• Ability to partner successfully and collaboratively in a highly creative and passionate environment and maintain positive work relationships and professionalism at all times
• A team-building as well as a team-player, with a great attitude and lots of integrity; thorough knowledge of the advertising discipline, loves the advertising business and knows the difference between a marketing professional and provides learned training as well as strategic direction
• Experience and/or understanding of the African American consumer market is a plus but experience and a strong understanding of the multicultural/urban consumer market is essential; can continue learning new and innovative ways this consumer responds and partners intelligence with strategic management.
